9/11 Memorial's Benches Damaged at High School in Northern Virginia

The benches surrounding a 9/11 memorial outside a Northern Virginia high school were damaged by someone who drove onto the property Wednesday, authorities said.

Prince William County Police are still looking for a suspect or suspects.

The incident happened about 9 a.m. Wednesday at Freedom High School on Neabsco Mills Road in Woodbridge, police said. Officers were called to the school the following morning.

The school's security director told officers that someone drove a vehicle onto the grass and struck the benches surrounding the school's 9/11 memorial.

No other property damage was reported.

Police say evidence of the destruction was left at the crime scene. They are investigating.
