911 Callers Horrified, Stunned at Baltimore Bus Crash

Witnesses who called 911 after a two-bus crash expressed stunned disbelief at the scene on a busy Baltimore street.

Police on Wednesday released recordings of 911 calls from Tuesday's collision that killed six people. People can be heard yelling for an ambulance; others struggle to determine the location and estimate how many people were hurt.

"We just had a school bus crash into a car and another car!," a man can be heard saying on the 911 audio.

One woman who called 911 screamed, "I need an ambulance! I need an ambulance and there's a...bus accident!"

At least two people initially called about a Mustang that was first hit by a school bus, only to then come upon the second impact scene, where the school bus had sheared off much of the driver's side of a Maryland Transit Administration bus.

One incredulous man describes the scene to the dispatcher, saying "The school bus has done crashed into, what's that?'' as he realizes the school bus has hit not just the car but the transit bus, as well.

The school bus first hit a car, then kept going at least 520 feet before slamming into a the MTA bus. Investigators are focusing on the 67-year-old driver of the school bus, who is among the six who died.

Police said it will take weeks for an autopsy to determine any possible medical problem the school bus driver may have had.

A woman who survived the crash says she was on the MTA bus on her way to work. She lost consciousness and woke up with glass in her mouth before she was carried out by emergency workers.

Friends and family of 33-year-old Ebonee Baker, the MTA driver killed, are distraught.

"Her little son keeps saying, 'You gonna go pick mommy up?' He's the 5-year-old one....I just hurt for that because he don't know," said Baker's father, Darryl Baker.
