7 Maryland E. Coli Patients Ate Salad Sold at Sam's Club

Seven people infected with E. coli ate a salad sold at Sam’s Clubs, according to the Maryland Department of Health.

The patients each reported eating Ready Pac Bistro Bowl Chicken Caesar Salads bought at various locations in the state, according the health department.

One person was hospitalized, but no one has died.

An unopened salad bough by one of the patients was tested and the presence of E. coli was detected in the romaine lettuce, the health department said.

The salads are sold at many other retailers, as well.

Consumers are advised against eating Ready Pac Bistro Bowl Chicken Caesar Salads with a best-by date of Oct. 31, 2019.
