7-Eleven, Denny's Robbed Minutes Apart in Fairfax County

A 7-Eleven and a Denny’s were robbed about 15 minutes apart Wednesday night in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County.

Two men robbed the 7-Eleven at 8226 Russell Road at 11:18 p.m., and two men robbed the Denny’s at 7214 Richmond Highway at 11:33 p.m.

In each robbery, a handgun was shown and money was demanded, police said.

An undisclosed amount of money was handed over at the 7-Eleven, and no one was injured, police said.

At the Denny's, one of the men took cash from the restaurant and its customers while the other took cash from another area in the restaurant. There were no injuries.

The robbers in each incident were described as black and 20-30 years old. One stood about 5-feet-8-inches tall, weighed about 160 pounds, and wore a black hooded sweatshirt and mask. The other stood about 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighed 150 pounds. He wore a green hooded sweatshirt and a mask.
