7-Eleven Employee Killed in Robbery

Prince George's County police searching for a suspect

A 7-Eleven employee was shot and killed during a robbery Thursday morning in Fort Washington, Md.

The shooting happened just before 3:30 a.m. in the 9200 block of Oxon Hill Road. Police said a second employee witnessed the murder and is cooperating with investigators.

The crime was caught by surveillance cameras. Police told NBC Washington's Pat Collins that two tall, thin men dressed in black -- one with a black hood and one wearing a white mask -- held up the store. It does not appear that the employee tried to resist, but he may have been moving too slow for the culprits.

The culprits left a trail of money behind that started in the 7-Eleven parking lot.

Police are still searching for the men.

There were no customers inside the store at the time, according to police.  Police are only identifying the victim as a male employee.
