Person With TV on Their Head Leaves 60 TVs at Virginia Homes

Someone wearing a TV on their head dropped off vintage TVs outside dozens of homes in Virginia last weekend.

The person wearing a jumpsuit was seen on home surveillance camera footage in Henrico County on Sunday.

"He squats down, puts the TV there and walks off," resident Adrian Garner told NBC affiliate WWBT. "My first reaction was, 'Did we order this?' [It's] not in an Amazon box. It was just kind of strange."

Garner wasn't the only one. More than 60 older-model TVs were found on front lawns and porches in the area, Henrico County police Lt. Matt Pecka said.

Police picked up the old TV sets from residents. They believe that more than one person is responsible. A similar incident occurred in a nearby neighborhood last year.

It’s unclear if the incident is a crime. Pecka said that dropping off the TVs is "at most" illegal dumping.

"To me, it's kind of funny," Michael Kroll, another resident, told WWBT. "I'm thinking it's ... a senior going in high school, or bored college kids before they go back to school trying to create a big buzz."

Most of the TVs will be recycled. A few residents said they would keep them.
