59 Trees To Be Removed in Great Falls

Virginia state officials say dozens of trees that have pose safety risks to drivers are being removed from the Great Falls area.

The Virginia Department of Transportation says contractors will begin removing 59 trees that are dead or in decline on Monday.

The move comes after a decayed oak tree fell over and killed a 64-year-old Great Falls man as he was driving last month.

The removal will take about three weeks.
