5 People Shot, Including 1 Juvenile, in Northeast DC: Police

Five people were shot, including one juvenile, in Northeast D.C. Thursday night -- exactly one week after a similarly violent night in the District.

Officers responded to the intersection of Brentwood Road and Rhode Island Avenue NE about 9:30 p.m.

A man and a woman were found shot in the 1300 block of Brentwood Road NE. Two more victims, both men, were found shot in the 1200 block of Rhode Island Avenue NE, police said.

D.C. police said a juvenile also walked into a nearby hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.

All the victims appear to have non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Two more people were injured in a separate shooting on Fairmont Street NW about 6:30 p.m., police said. Both victims have non-life threatening injuries.

A week ago, on Feb. 23, two officers were shot near the intersection of Holbrooke and Morse streets NE. The suspect was shot and killed; the two officers survived the shooting. The same night, four other men were shot on Wheeler Road SE.
