On Day 6 of Olympic competition, Simone Biles -- fresh off the thrill of a second consecutive gold for the U.S. women's gymnastics team -- went for an individual gold medal. Meanwhile, Michael Phelps will attempt to continue his gold rush as he battles Ryan Lochte in his signature event.
Here are four of the biggest Things to Watch during the Summer Games Thursday.

1) Biles Scores Individual Gold
Thursday was Simone time. After leading her team to gold in the all-around team event Tuesday, Simone Biles earned an individual gold medal to call her own Thursday afternoon after facing off against 23 other gymnasts, including U.S. teammate Aly Raisman, in the all-around final.
Coming to Rio as a heavy favorite, 19-year-old Biles has excelled under the pressure and the spotlight. On Thursday, she had another opportunity to shine.

2) Ledecky, Phelps Look to Continue Gold Rush
Katie Ledecky set a new Olympic record during her preliminary heat Thursday in her signature event, the 800-meter freestyle.
Michael Phelps is also hoping to add to his treasure trove of gold medals in his signature event, the 100-meter butterfly. In his preliminary heat Thursday afternoon, he came in second, calling it a "screw-up." In Thursday night's semifinal, he came in a close second just behind Hungary's Laszlo Cseh.

3) Thrasher Took Aim at Next Competition
Nineteen-year-old Ginny Thrasher of Springfield, Virginia, made headlines when she nabbed the first medal of Rio, for the 10-meter air rifle.
Her rise in the sport has been meteoric -- she grew up as a figure skater and has only been shooting for five years.
Thursday, the West Virginia University student took aim in the women's 50-meter rifle three positions, but ranked 11th in the qualification round.

4) Final 200m IM Battle Between Phelps and Lochte
Michael Phelps bested Ryan Lochte in a thrilling conclusion to a 13-year rivalry Thursday night, winning his 22nd gold in the 200-meter individual medley.
Phelps and Lochte have dominated the 200 IM race internationally since they both swam it in 2004 at the Athens Olympics. But Lochte, who led at the halfway point, missed a medal entirely, finishing off the board in fifth.
Phelps surged to the lead with an aggressive breaststroke leg, then turned for home with a comfortable lead.
