Four-Year-Old Girl Struck by Car at National Mall

Girl conscious and breathing; taken to an area hospital

A four-year-old girl has been taken to an area hospital after being struck by a car at the National Mall Thursday morning.

The girl was conscious and breathing following the crash before 9 a.m. near the Washington Monument.

The driver remained on the scene at the intersection of 14th Street and Madison Drive NW. Madison runs parallel to and between Independence and Constitution avenues.

Northbound 14th Street is closed at Madison Drive. Westbound Madison Drive is closed at 14th Street.
