1 Dead, 3 Wounded in Separate D.C. Shootings

Shootings take place early Sunday morning in Southeast

D.C. Police are investigating two separate shootings that resulted in the death of one person and the wounding of three others early Sunday morning.

The first shooting occurred shortly before 3 a.m. in the 4500 block of Benning Road SE.  Investigators say a man was shot and transported to hospital with unknown injuries. Police are classifying the incident as an assault with intent to kill.

The second shooting happened in the 3400 block of Stanton Road SE at approximately the same time as the first. Two men and a juvenile male were shot. One of the men, identified as 21-year-old Alvin Allen Jr., of Southeast, died at a local hospital, while the others were hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released any information about possible suspects or motives in these shootings.  Identities of the victims have not been disclosed.
