4 Arrested After Gaithersburg Fire Extinguisher Robberies

Victims were sprayed, then robbed of personal property

Three juveniles and an adult have been arrested after committing two robberies with the help of a fire extinguisher Saturday in Gaithersburg.

Montgomery County Police say that the robberies happened within minutes of each other shortly after 8:00 p.m. Saturday in the area of Gaithersburg Middle School and Gaithersburg Elementary School. Investigators say that the victims were sprayed with a fire extinguisher before the suspects took personal property from them. It is not clear exactly what was taken.

Authorities say that all four suspects will be charged with armed robbery after they were identified by the victims. No names have been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
