4 Arrested, 1 Wanted in Prince William County Shooting

Four men are in custody and another man is wanted by police following a fatal shooting in Gainesville, Virginia. Two others were also injured in the incident.

Wayne Carmichael Kennedy, 32; Calvin Jones, 31; Derrick Nathaniel Jones, 26, and David Lennel Broadnax, 31, were arrested this week in connection with the death of Claude Lee Jackson III.

Police are still searching for 32-year-old Alvin Burnett Jones.

Officers were called to Old Linton Hall Road and Charis Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found two men in a nearby parking lot, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Jackson died from his injuries at an area hospital. A second victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

While investigators were on the scene, a third man was found with a minor wound to the hand.

Alvin Jones and Kennedy have been charged with murder and aggravated malicious wounding. Calvin Jones is facing several charges, including murder, felony assault by mob, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Derrick Jones and Broadnax have been charged with accessory to murder and felony assault by mob.

Police say the suspects and the victims knew one another and were involved in a verbal altercation the week before the shooting.
