3 Rescued in Navy Helicopter Crash in Virginia's James River

Three crew members were rescued without injuries

Three crew members were rescued after their a Navy helicopter crashed into Virginia's James River on Tuesday, officials say.

None of the three were hurt.

The MH-60S helicopter crashed Tuesday morning during a training mission, Naval Air Force Atlantic spokesman Mike Maus said. The three crew members on board were not injured but were taken to the Portsmouth Naval Medical Center for observation, Maus said.

The crew members were rescued by a Newport News Police boat, he said. Photos from the scene show the crew members walking on their own after making it back to land.

Maus said an investigation will be done to determine the cause of the crash. He said he could not release the names of the crew members on board.
