3 Injured When Truck Strikes Pedestrians, Vehicles at Maryland Apartment Complex

Three people are seriously injured Sunday after authorities say a driver lost control of his truck and hit pedestrians and cars at an apartment complex in Silver Spring, Maryland.

At 5:45 p.m., police and fire responded to the Montgomery White Oak Apartments at 11500 Lockwood Drive for reports that multiple pedestrians had been struck.

A driver hit several people and several vehicles with his pickup truck, said Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer.

One car that was struck careened and hit a few more cars. The truck ended up on its side and the driver had to be extricated, Piringer said.

The driver of the truck and two pedestrians were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, Piringer said.

The incident happened at a long driveway at the complex that leads to the pool.
