Multiple Robberies Overnight in Northwest DC

Police are investigating 3 robberies in Northwest

Authorities are investigating multiple robberies in upper northwest Washington, two of which were carried out at gunpoint.

Police said they believed the same robbers may have been involved in the two gunpoint robberies, which occurred about 11 p.m. Monday at River Road and 46th Street and in the 5000 block of Wisconsin Avenue in the Friendship Heights area.

The victims told police there were three robbers, at least one of whom wore a mask.

Police say another robbery occurred about 5:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Warren Street, about a mile south of Friendship Heights. Authorities say three robbers were also involved in that robbery, but no weapon was involved.

Also in Northwest overnight, an armed robbery occured near the intersection of 11th and W Street, and another robbery happened on the 1200 block of Capitol Street.
