3 Hurt When Shots Fired During Fight After Shooting Victim's Funeral

A fight broke out after a shooting victim's funeral in Suitland, Maryland, Monday and at least three people were injured in a shooting nearby, police say.

Video from a surveillance camera shows people spilling out of the Deliverance Headquarters For All People church on Suitland Road about 1 p.m.

They had just attended the funeral service for 34-year-old Eric Byrd, who was shot and killed on July 20 on U Street NW in D.C.

Police officers went to the funeral to break up the fight and heard gunshots.

About 200 yards down Suitland Road, someone opened fire on a blue Toyota sedan.

One person inside the car was critically injured and two others arrived at a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

A fourth person at the scene had a possible bullet graze wound, police said.
