2nd Gang Member Pleads Guilty in Killing of Alexandria Man

Another man has pleaded guilty to the gang-related stabbing death of a man at a Virginia park last year.

Edwin Guerrero Umana, 18, of Arlington, pleaded guilty Thursday to murder for his role in the death of 22-year-old Eduardo David Chandias Almendarez.

Almendarez's body was found with nearly 100 stab wounds in Four Mile Run Park on Dec. 4, 2015. He had been reported missing six days earlier.

Umana told police in April he and two others lured the victim to a McDonald’s to buy marijuana and then brought him to the park. According to court documents, Almendarez's death was revenge for his testimony in the murder trail of a MS-13 gang member.

In June, Boris Elias Rosa Castro, 19, of Fairfax County, also pleaded guilty to murdering Almendarez.
