A second man has been charged in the 2009 slaying of a shop owner in northwest D.C., police said.
Dowen Donovan Knight, 57, was arraigned Monday in D.C. Superior Court on the charge of first-degree murder while armed in the shooting of 51-year-old Rufina Hernandez, of Hyattsville, Md.
Knight had been indicted in August and was being held in Montgomery County, Md., on unrelated charges.
Hernandez was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the face and neck on Nov. 7, 2009, at her store, La Casa De Morata.
Andres Lopez, 45, was charged in November 2009 with felony murder while armed in Hernandez's slaying.
