252 Million Reasons To Smile

Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs To $252M

Feeling lucky?  If so, Tuesday could be your big day.

Since no one matched all numbers in Friday's drawing the estimated Mega Millions jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday is $252 million.

Anyone who matches all six numbers can choose between annual payments of $9.7 million for 26 years or a lump sum payout of about $159 million.

Mega Millions tickets sold in Virginia have already won twice this year. One winner walked away with $47.8 million. The other won $11.5 million.

No one has won the Mega Millions since July 7, making Tuesday's jackpot for the game played in 12 states among the game's 10 largest. The biggest jackpot was $390 million on March 6, 2007. There were two winning tickets -- one sold in Dalton, Ga., and another in Woodbine, N.J.

If you need some help picking your numbers for Tuesday's drawing, you may want the help of the Mega Millions Number Generator.

But before you quit your job and buy that Georgetown mansion you've been eyeing, remember this: The odds of winning the jackpot are about one in 176 million.
