24-Year-Old Father Killed, 4 Hurt in Bristow Crash

Edgar Medrano had recently gotten engaged and left behind a 2-year-old daughter

Prince William County Police say Edgar Medrano, a 24-year-old father, was killed Sunday night in a car crash that hurt four others.

Medrano had recently gotten engaged and left behind a 2-year-old daughter.

"He was a good man," his friend, Juan Gomez, told News4. "Everything that's happened has left me speechless."

Medrano was riding in an Acura Integra heading eastbound on Bristow Road about 10:30 p.m. Sunday when the 19-year-old driver lost control and slammed into two trees. He was found seated behind the driver and pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

The two other backseat passengers were ejected from the car. First responders extricated the driver and a passenger from the front seats of the car.

The driver and two other passengers were airlifted to the hospital.  Another passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Only the driver was wearing a seatbelt and was speeding, police said. It's unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved, police say.
