2 Teens Arrested in Stolen Scooter Robbery Spree Through DC

D.C. police arrested two teenagers for a crime spree that spread across the city in less than an hour.

The 16-year-old and 14-year-old boys are accused of stealing a scooter in Northwest around 9 p.m. Sept. 2.

Their spree began more than a week later, around 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, when they allegedly stole a second scooter by pushing a woman off of it in Logan Circle, according to police.

Over the next hour, police say, the suspects robbed and assaulted five more people in Northeast and Northwest. They also snatched a sixth person's property, police say. The teens started down along East Capitol Street, then rode scooters north up New Jersey Avenue and then to Rhode Island Avenue NE, police said.

They face assault, theft and robbery charges.
