Neighbors heard gunfire

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. -- Two women were found dead Monday morning in a Prince George's County home.

Police were called at about 2:30 a.m. to the home in the 10800 block of Southall Drive in Upper Marlboro after neighbors heard gunfire. Officers entered the home through an open window and found a mother and daughter shot to death in an upstairs bedroom. Each had suffered multiple sounds to the upper body.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide.

Investigators believe the women knew the gunman, police said.

There was no sign of forced entry into the home, police spokeswoman Sgt. Tammy Sparkman said.

The 911 call was placed from inside the home, police said. A woman said she was injured.

Police have not provided more information about the circumstances surrounding the deaths or the identities of the victims. They also have not given any information about their relationship.
