Teens Beat, Seriously Injure Man in Maryland Church Parking Lot, Police Say

Three teenagers beat and seriously injured a man in a church parking lot in Mount Rainier, Md. Sunday night -- and one of the accused attackers is still being sought, police said.

According to Prince George's County Police, 18-year-old Demarco Green, 17-year-old Ahkilah Carter and 17-year-old Tyrail Leonard walked up to a man on the 4500 block of 22nd Avenue about 11:15 p.m. Sunday and beat him. The teens then stole the victim's keys and drove off in his car.

Carter and Leonard were taken into custody a short time later; police are still searching for Green.

Police say Carter, Leonard and Green all live in the same home on the 3900 block of South Dakota Avenue in Northeast Washington. All three have been charged as adults with carjacking, theft and assault.

The victim was seriously injured but has since been released from a hospital, police said.

People who know the teens said they were surprised to hear about the crime.

A neighbor of the group home said there has been a rise in disturbances since the facility moved into a nearby building.

"I live here about 30, 30-plus years and I never heard nothing, but since they put the halfway house, you hear a lot of things happen," Atielle Vainqueur said.

If you have any information that can help police find Green, call 301-699-2601. A $25,000 reward is being offered.
