2 Women Struck by Car in Rockville

Man was driving home from work, police said

Two women were hospitalized after being struck by a car Monday morning in Rockville, Md.

The crash happened just before 9 a.m. in the 1800 block of Chapman Avenue near the Twinbrook Metro Station.

Police said a 33-year-old Silver Spring man was driving home from work when he struck a 20-year-old woman and a woman in her 60s.  Investigators said the older victim is from Upper Marlboro.

Police said she was not in a marked crosswalk when she was hit and critically injured.

The younger victim is from Winchester Va. She was seriously injured and reportedly walking in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.

Both women were transported to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda.
