2 Pedestrians Struck by Rockville Volunteer Fire Department Vehicle

Two people were hit Saturday night by a Rockville Volunteer Fire Department vehicle, and one of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries.

The victims, a man and a woman, were struck about 9:30 p.m. by a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado assigned to the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department, Montgomery County Police said. The vehicle, driven by a 59-year-old Rockville woman, was heading east on Beall Avenue in Rockville at the time of the crash.

The female victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries; the male victim was transported with minor injuries.

The driver was not hurt.
