Young Father, Teenage Friend Killed in Woodbridge Crash

A father of a 2-year-old and his 19-year-old friend were killed and another man was critically injured when a sedan and a Prince William County commuter bus collided head-on. News4's Meagan Fitzgerald reports. (Published Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018)

A father of a 2-year-old and his 19-year-old friend were killed and another man was critically injured when a sedan and a Prince William County commuter bus collided head-on.

The driver of the car, 24-year-old Pablo Enrique Angulo, and a passenger, 19-year-old Prince Arthur, were killed. Another passenger suffered life-threatening injuries.

“I don’t have words to describe how painful it is for all of us,” Angulo’s cousin, Fiolera Salazar, said. “He was a fun person to be around.”

She said that even on your worst day, he could make you smile.

“When he became a dad, that was his priority,” Salazar said.

Angulo left work as a mechanic Monday and was giving his friends a ride home in his Toyota Corolla.

The Toyota Corolla was speeding in the northbound lanes of Smoketown Road around 8:30 p.m. when the car crossed over the median and into oncoming traffic.

Police say a PRTC OmniRide bus traveling southbound was unable to avoid the car and hit it head-on. The bus then left the roadway, striking a light pole and metal fence on the campus of Gar-Field High School.

Angulo and Arthur were killed at the scene. A passenger in the back seat was seriously injured.

No passengers were on the bus and the driver was not injured, police said.

Photos from the scene show the front of the sedan mangled.

The road remained closed for several hours following the crash.
