2 Killed In Pr. George's Accident

Accident occurred Saturday afternoon

Two men were killed in Prince George's County Saturday afternoon when a motorcycle hit a pedestrian in Suitland.

Prince George's Police say that the accident occurred near 3939 Branch Avenue, between Saint Barnabas and Iverson Roads, just before 4 p.m.  The driver of the motorcycle was identified as 40-year-old Jonathan Evans of Lorton, Va. The pedestrian was identified as 64-year-old Harry Lee of Clinton, Md.

Authorities say that the accident occurred in the southbound lane of Branch Avenue. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene, while Evans was taken to Southern Maryland Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Initial investigation focused on whether or not Lee was crossing Branch Avenue in a pedestrian crosswalk. The investigation is ongoing.
