2 Hospitalized After Stafford Co. Plane Crash

FAA: Small plane went down near Stafford Co. Regional Airport

Two people have been hospitalized after a small plane crashed in Stafford County early Sunday morning. 

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed to News4 that a Piper PA32 crashed shortly after 7 a.m., landing in a field four miles southeast of Stafford County Regional Airport.

Virginia State Police said that the pilot of the plane was 63-year-old Daniel Hoyt of White Stone, Virginia. His passenger was Alberto Toledo, 51, who was also the owner of the plane. Their condition is unknown, but a Virginia State Police source told News4 that the men were talking to a trooper as they were being transported to Mary Washington Hospital. 

The FAA is investigating the crash. According to Virginia State Police, the plance was coming in for a landing at Stafford when it lost power.
