2 DC Firefighters on Leave After Punching, Scratching Cops at Pizza Shop: Court Docs

Two D.C. firefighters punched, scratched and jumped on three police officers at a local pizza shop, according to court documents.

Courtney Barnes and Kimberly Gorham were both off-duty when they were asked to leave a pizza shop on Connecticut Ave. NW about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, according to court documents.

When Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived to the shop, Barnes allegedly told them, "I hope that y'all take a bullet to the head because I'm not going to revive you."

Barnes then started punching the officers, according the court documents.

As the officers arrested Barnes, Gorham then jumped on one of the officers and started stratching them in the eye and punching them, the document say.

Both Barnes and Gorham were arrested, along with a third person, and charged with assaulting a police officer.

They are on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings, the fire department said.

Barnes joined the department in 2007 and he was assigned to Engine Company 23.

Gorham joined the department in 2016. She was also assigned to Engine Company 23.
