A 19-year-old man has died after falling from the roof of a moving car in Northern Virginia, police said.
Samran Khan, of Springfield, died from his injuries Wednesday evening nearly a week after his fall, Fairfax County Police said.
The incident happened Friday night. Police said Khan was lying on the roof of a 1997 Honda Civic that another man was driving near Hooes Road and Beverly Park Drive in Springfield about 10 p.m. As the driver turned onto Beverly Park Drive, Khan fell off the car's roof and was seriously injured, police said. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with detectives. Neither speed nor alcohol appeared to be factors in the incident, police said.
