Fourteen people are being honored for pulling a 7-year-old boy from a pool and for helping save his life.
District of Columbia fire officials said in a statement that on Friday they will honor the two women, three police officers and nine fire and emergency medical services members who helped save the boy's life.
Fire officials say that on May 4, the two women saw the boy floating in a swimming pool in southeast Washington and pulled him from the water because he appeared lifeless. The women then performed CPR and police officers and fire and emergency medical services personnel responded.
Fire officials say that on Friday the 7-year-old will get to formally meet those who helped revive him.
