Topless Bike Riders Take D.C.

About a dozen (mostly) nude cyclists mounted up on Saturday in support of alternative fuel - and uncovered female breasts.

"If men can go top free, women should be able to do the same," one of the riders said at the start of the ride. Cyclists, wearing swimwear more appropriate for the Brazilian beaches than the nation's capital, made their merry way from Franklin Park and past the Capitol building.

This is the fifth iteration of D.C.'s nude bike ride, which is vaguely in support of increased public nuditym, with a nod to ending the country's fossil fuel dependance.

The mostly male crew said if you missed this chance to bare your chest on city streets, don't worry - an organization has declared August 21 National Go-Topless Day.  Don't forget the sunscreen.
