11-Year-Old Struck by Prince George's Co. Ambulance

    An 11-year-old girl is expected to be OK after she was struck by a Prince George's County ambulance Friday afternoon.

    According to a news release from the Prince George's County Police Department, the accident was reported around 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Greenleaf Road and Romney Court in Landover.

    Preliminarily, police think the 11-year-old girl stepped into the street behind a Metro bus and was then struck by a passing ambulance.

    She had pain in her lower extremities and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

    Both members of the ambulance crew will go through an internal investigation of the incident.
