Protesting a piece of the defense appropriation bill

Several Occupy DC protesters will likely face charges, following their arrest during a protest outside the White House Monday night.

U.S. Park Police say they arrested 11 protesters in front of the White House because they ignored a police order to leave the grounds. They will likely be charged with disobeying an official order.

The group was protesting a piece of the defense appropriation bill that would allow the president to detain people, including U.S. citizens, indefnitely if they are suspected of terrorist activities.
