$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in Lorton

Someone's in for a great holiday surprise -- a Powerball ticket sold in Lorton, Virginia has won $1 million.

The ticket was sold at Gunston Shell Service at 9801 Richmond Highway for Saturday's drawing.

The ticket matched the winning numbers of 13-24-30-42-48, but missed the Powerball number of 27.

The winner has 180 days from the drawing date to claim the prize, but he or she should immediately sign the back of the ticket to establish ownership, according to the Virginia Lottery.

But lottery officials are still waiting to hear from the winner of a June 21 drawing. That ticket -- also worth $1 million -- was sold at Getty Mart at 209 E. Holly Avenue in Sterling. The deadline to come forward is rapidly approaching: The winner has only until 5 p.m. on Dec. 18 to claim the prize.
