Could you be sitting on a million dollars? Someone is.
More than four months after three $1 million winning tickets were drawn in the New Year's Millionaire Raffle in Virginia, one of those winners still hasn't materialized.
Lottery officials are encouraging people to check their tickets -- they want the winner to come forward before it's too late. In Virginia, winning tickets expire 180 days after the drawing, so the winner has a little more than six weeks left.
The winning ticket will expire at 5 p.m. on June 30. Officials say it was purchased at the 7-Eleven at 13304 Occoquan Road in Woodbridge.
The winner is encouraged to call the Virginia Lottery at 804-692-7777 or 703-494-1501.
The drawing's other two million-dollar winners -- John Humphries of Danville, Virginia, and Amy Lloyd of Martinsburg, West Virginia -- claimed their prizes within a week of the drawing Jan. 1.
If the prize goes unclaimed, the money will go to the state Literary Fund. Since 1988, the lottery has given more than $234 million in unclaimed prize money to the fund, lottery officials said.
