One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting in Northeast D.C., police say.
The shooting erupted on the 900 block of Division Avenue NE. The victims went to a hospital, where one of them died, D.C. police say. Police identified the deceased as 28-year-old Kalin Louis Middleton of Seat Pleasant, Maryland.
That street is shut down between Sheriff Road and Jay Street during the investigation.
Police reported the shooting early Wednesday morning.
The shooting was one of several reported overnight: Police investigated other incidents on the 1500 block of Tobias Drive SE and on the 4300 block of E St. SE.
D.C. has already investigated 114 homicides this year, an increase from this time last year.
