1 Killed in Crash With Metrobus

One person is dead after a car and a Metrobus collided in Seat Pleasant, Md., according to Prince George's County police said.

The bus was struck from behind by one of two Mercedes Benzes that appeared to be racing, according to Metro. The striking vehicle then burst into flames.

Police have identified the deceased driver as 22-year-old Cleon David Wills of Bowie.

About 45 passengers were on the bus when the crash occurred at around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Central Avenue and Soper Lane. Police said that eight people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, none of which appeared to be serious.

The other Mercedes spun out and stayed at the scene, according to Metro. Two occupants of that car were taken into custody on suspicion of DUI. Investigators say that speed and alcohol appeared to be the two main factors in the crash.
