1 Killed, 1 Injured in Hit-and-Run on Wilson Bridge

Police believe the victims pulled over to the shoulder due to car trouble before their vehicle was struck

A hit-and-run crash on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge left one person dead and another injured late Wednesday night.

Christian Guerriro, 21, and Ryan Eades, 20, pulled over their Mazda Miata on the right shoulder of northbound I-495 in the Prince Geoge's County section of the bridge after apparently having car trouble, Maryland State Police said. Investigators believe a Nissan Pathfinder then traveled into the right shoulder and struck the Mazda. The driver then took off.

Guerreiro died at the scene of the crash and medics took Eades to a hospital. Eades' condition is not known at this time.

Police said they took a suspect into custody for questioning at the Forestville Barrack Department in District Heights, Maryland. The suspect has not been identified as charges have not been filed yet.

Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 301-568-8101. Callers may remain anonymous.
