1 Teen Dead, 4 Injured in Haymarket Crash

One teenager died and four others were injured after a crash early Wednesday morning in Haymarket, Va.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a 2005 Dodge Magnum was traveling westbound on Logmill Road when it struck a deer just after midnight on Logmill Road just west of James Madison Highway in Prince William County. That collision caused the 18-year-old male driver to lose control and strike a tree.

Kendra Kaeleen Tucker, 15, of Gainesville, died in the crash.

Four medical helicopters were called in to transport the victims to local hospitals. The driver is in stable condition. A 14-year-old Gainesville girl is in critical condition. A 15-year-old Haymarket girl is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old Gainesville boy was treated and released Wednesday morning.

The teens attend Battlefield High School.

Investigators said speed was a factor in this crash. None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

Logmill Road has a history of serious and deadly accidents. Last August two teens were killed in a crash on Logmill Road. They were also Battlefield students.
