A man was shot Thursday afternoon near the Anacostia Metro station in southeast Washington.
The incident happened at 1101 Howard Road SE.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The suspect remained at large.
There was no immediate word on what led to the shooting.
