Man Shot Multiple Times During Germantown Home Invasion

Montgomery County Police say a man was shot multiple times during a home invasion in Germantown, Md., early Monday morning.

Officers were called to the 17400 block of Onax Drive around 1:30 a.m. for reports of a burglary and found the 22-year-old victim.

He was transported to an area hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

News of the home invasion had residents on Onax Drive taking extra precaution as police sorted out what exactly happened.

"It was pretty scary for a little while," neighbor Paul Smith said. "There was a bunch of yelling going on...seemed like there were about two ot three people talking..."

Jim Daly, the spokesperson for Montgomery County Police, said multiple people forced their way into the home. At this time, police have not established whether the victim is a resident of the home or one of the assailants.

Daly said other adults were inside the home during the home invasion. Detectives believe the residents and suspects knew each other.
