A man died Tuesday after a CSX train hit his truck in Beltsville, Maryland, Prince George's County police said.
Police say the train was not able to stop in time after the conductor saw the truck on the tracks on the 11500 block of Baltimore Avenue. The train pushed the truck for several feet before coming to a stop.
Officers were called to the scene at 3:40 a.m.
The driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
Information was not released immediately on why the truck was on the tracks.
Only a conductor and an engineer were on train at the time.
Baltimore Avenue was closed in both directions between Naples Avenue and Powder Mill Road.
