1 Acre Burned in Brush Fire

One firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling the fire

Just before 7 p.m. Sunday evening, firefighters were called to Pennsylvania Avenue SE and Branch Avenue SE to respond to a brush fire.

The fire has been contained, but crews continue to monitor hot spots, according to fire officials. One firefighter suffered a minor injury. There were no other injuries.

No homes or structures were in danger, according to a spokesperson for the DC Fire Department.

One acre of land was burned.
