PNC Bank Waives Some ATM Fees

No charge at National City ATMs thanks to acquisition

PNC Bank is waiving customer fees for all transactions at ATMs operated by newly acquired National City Bank.

PNC, which has more than 130 branches in the Washington area, said the combined bank will have 6,000 ATMs nationwide. That will make it the fourth-largest ATM network in the country.

"Immediate consolidation of our ATM network is evidence of how we will deliver more to our customers," PNC said in a statement.

Cleveland-based National City bank was acquired by PNC in a $5.6 billion dollar deal. PNC said National City branches will not be rebranded as PNC branches until the second half of 2009.
