Inspired by the film "Deck the Halls," the Busser family of Lothian, Md., wanted their holiday display to be seen from space. Using a boomlift, they strung thousands of lights across their entire roof, house and yard. We don't know if it can be seen from space, but it definitely lights up their Ferry Branch neighborhood!

We've been decorating our house like this for eight years now, adding to it each year. We have a traffic jam in front of our house from 5 to 10 p.m. every night. It is worth seeing. Santa will be sitting on the front porch too on, Wed, Dec 21. Last year we had 150 children! South Riding Va.

This is my parents' house (Mark and Barbara New). They love Christmas and it is reflected in their holiday decorations both inside and outside. My parents spent countless hours after work handcrafting out of wood the Ferris Wheel which is operational. They have also made out of wood a life size nativity scene, Mr. and Mrs. Claus and Merry-go-Round. They get so excited about their decorations and showing it to people.

The weather was great on Saturday, Dec. 10, here at the Andersons' North Pole. We were outside allowing more than 300 cars to drive through our holiday light display, visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and the elves and Grinch, warm up with a small campfire and share in our holiday spirit. Located right off of Cardinal Drive in Dale City/Woodbridge Va, the Anderson family has been decorating more than five acres for all the friends and neighbors to enjoy our spirit! We are open till Jan 1, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. till 11 p.m. every night.

Here are the lights at my house; my dad always wins first place in the neighborhood contest. We gets tons of people that drive by and look at them every night. He's got countless blow ups, penguins, and even Santa and his reindeer on the roof.
21/94
A sea of lights. The meaning of Christmas Nativity on one roof, and candyncanes with a Christmas tree on the other. Christmas animals are all about. Animated penguins fishing and being bowled over. Santa's Christmas Aircraft Squadron (supported by Snoopy) work on the Christmas present airlift (once they get that reindeer off the runway!) Now in our seventh year, we add and re-arrange the scene each year in ournconstant pursuit of the tasteful "Griswaldian scene."

This is not my house, and the picture does not do it justice. It's a house in Alexandria where cars literally line up and park to watch the light display. They have their own radio station and if you tune it in your car you can hear the music while the lights "dance" to the music... it's spectacular! From Joyce Tischer

We have a family tradition of lighting up on Thanksgiving night with family and friends. All of our display could not be fit in one photo. There are two trees over 30 feet tall decorated too along with 20 decorated trees inside of the home. Spotsylvania, Va.

I wanted to share with you a picture of our Christmas lights here in Vienna, Va. We spent about three days getting things together. Though it's not quite a Clark W. Griswold production, we are pretty proud nonetheless.

I am sending you pics of last year's display. This years display will not officially be lit up until Friday 12/2/11. It will be bigger and brighter, including a huge LED light show. We will have our annual lighting party Friday 12/2, including hot chocolate, apple cider, homemade Christmas cookies, Christmas music and an outdoor fire. Last year we had about 60 people here and everyone sang Christmas carols. You picked my brother's house last year to do a broadcast from. I have had to deal with him for a year...

The living room has dozens of nativities plus the Christmas tree, village and nutcrackers. The dining room has Santa Clauses of all shapes and sizes. The Kitchen has snowmen. Bowie, Md.

For the past 10 years, my dad and I have been decorating a large pine tree outside of our house in the front yard. I am now 25 and married, but we are still continuing the tradition. It is probably the most important thing we do as a father/daughter team... and every year we get more and more ambitious with more and more lights! This year, our 30+ foot tree has over 1,600 lights (mostly LED) and over 60 ornaments. The neighborhood loves to watch us spend close to 8 hours decorating the tree, and it is definitely worth the hard day of work!
56/94
This is the winter wonderland set up in my front yard! What makes this display even more special, is my 22-year-old son deployed (his 3rd time) to Afghanistan just a few days ago, and he helped me to set it all up. I probably have over 500,000 total lights in my yard! On the roof, I have Snoopy flying his airplane, Santa in a sleigh with Rudolph leading him, a color changing snowflake and color-changing icicles down the gutters.

They have also made out of wood a life size nativity scene, Mr. and Mrs. Claus and Merry-go-Round. They get so excited about their decorations and showing it to people.
