Running into the grocery store, super-super-quick-quick, just to grab one thing? We've all been there. And we all know our way around the aisles, the products, the brands we recognize in an instant. But what if that normal weekly/daily experience was, if not turned upside, then made very soft and highly surreal?
You'd probably be inside "Sparrow Mart," the new installation from artist Lucy Sparrow. The month-long pop-up will appear, with cheek, charm and grocery-filled glee, from Aug. 1 through 31 at The Standard, Downtown Los Angeles. Things to know about this truly one-of-a-kind, step-inside experience? It's free, but you'll want to register for a ticket. Also, it is closed Mondays. Also, all "31,000 unique felt artworks" will be available for purchase, from felt berries to felt sushi to felt bags of chips.
Look inside now at some of the playful products you'll encounter at this mirthful market...
