"Ted Lasso" star Hannah Waddingham has chimed in on Oprah Winfrey's controversial interview with Prince Harry and his wife Meghan. And she's not leaving any doubt as to where her sympathies lie.
"The time has come to let that boy live his life and leave him the hell alone," said the "Game of Thrones" alum who lives in London.
Waddingham, who just won Best Supporting Actress at the Critics Choice Awards, was joined by fellow "Ted Lasso" star Juno Temple to discuss her surprise win.
"I sat there and not 30 seconds before I was apologizing to the glam team that I had with me and my photographer, saying how sorry I was we had done all this lovely work just to see someone else win and we're going to shut this laptop down and everyone is just going to go home, " she said. Waddingham said she even got Temple, who was by her side for the award broadcast, to book her car back home earlier because she was expecting a short night.
"I was like, 'What's the point. I'm just going to lose and I'm going to want to go to bed,'" Waddingham said.
Back to the royal interview, Waddingham said she hopes the furor over Harry and Meghan will soon die down.
"It's such a ridiculous thing that everyone has weighed in about and I know people love talking about it because it's a royal situation. But at the end of the day they are two human beings," she said.
