You Mean You Have to Feed These Things?

Hm, so a pacifier isn't sufficient sustenance?

For all you culinary challenged parents out there, the day will come when you can no longer spoon food from a jar into your kiddo's mouth. It's true; they just won't accept that goop anymore. They want adult food, and you will inevitably panic.

You may have learned how to whip up a mean microwave mac-and-cheese or a simple PB&J in college, but remember the freshmen 15? Yeah. Even less attractive on a toddler.

So instead of throwing in the (kitchen) towel and putting your mature munchkins on a strict diet of Lunchables and Juicy Juice, why not learn how to cook up some healthy toddler-friendly meals.

Art and Soul Restaurant (415 New Jersey Ave. NW) is offering a Toddler Edition of their popular Baby Food for the Soul Class this Saturday, June 20 at 11 a.m. For $35, you will not only learn how to create healthy and fun dishes for toddlers, but also find out which ingredients are beneficial to the little ones, and which should be avoided.

If your babes are still in onesies and have yet to reach those Terrible Twos, Art and Soul is offering another $35 Baby Food for the Soul Class on July 18 at 11 a.m.

These classes promise to make you a #1 parent with your tots, and with $10 from your ticket benefiting DC Safe Kitchen, a nonprofit that teaches DC youth kitchen safety skills, you will also be a #1 donor. Go ahead now; give yourself a pat on the back.

We'll just go back to trying to nourish this houseplant now.
